Most organisations have a substantial level of IT assets but due to the mad rush of day-to-day business, there’s rarely a fully accurate picture of what IT assets are within the organisation. This is especially a problem for larger organisations spread across many locations, often in different countries. It may be a problem of Hardware Asset Management, Software Asset Management, or, as is more often the case, a combination of both.
The prospect of accurately identifying every item of IT hardware and software is daunting for most and often, as soon as an inventory is created, it’s then out-of-date. This means that there is often unnecessary expense on software licences, hardware that’s not used or is under-utilised, and often problems of non-compliance with software licence regulations.

Although every organisation will currently have differing levels of IT Asset Management in place, and therefore there will be differing potential to save huge amounts on costs, because every organisation is different we can’t guarantee cost savings for everyone.
